Better To Be Safe Than Sorry with Fungicide Applications

Our region just experienced a stretch of extreme weather, the likes of which we have not seen for quite some time. While a weather pattern like this is certainly not normal in our geography, the possibility for it does exist. The most organized programs with perfect execution of applications can all be thrown to the wayside if you get caught off guard by prolonged and severe weather with high disease pressure. When you see long stretches of weather containing high humidity, high night time temperatures and ample rainfall, disregard your plans and be proactive with fungicide applications. Normal 14 or 21+ day fungicide intervals cannot be expected with the severe weather we experienced. If you find yourself in the middle or tail end of an application while facing these conditions, do not try to stretch your app through that period! Shorten your spray intervals, protect the plant with fungicides and sleep better at night!
