Even though the summer of 2016 is officially
in the books, there are still many preparations to complete before winter
approaches. After a very wet summer, grub scouting is in high gear. Aloft,
Sevin or ArmorTech Guillotine, with a penetrant, are perfect choices for grub
activity. With that said, the rains also have leached out many of the nutrients
in the soil. 22-0-4 with Armament ZnB is a great choice for bluegrass. Lebanon25-0-10 or 24-0-18 for bentgrass fairways and tees are great choices here, too.
Fall is also a great time for herbicide
applications. ProGro has too many herbicides choices to mention here, but ArmorTech Sure Zone and Threesome can handle most people's needs. Finally,
preventative patch disease applications still have to be made. Our SharShield
PPZ 41.8% EC, ArmorTech Zoxy-T, Trinity, or ArmorTech Teb 360 are great choices
that can be combined with Foliar-Pak Minors or Manganese.
I know it is a challenge at this time of year
to complete these and other important fall tasks. Crews are depleted and tired,
mowing is still in high gear and of course leaf removal is right around the
corner. Hopefully, you can fit these important applications into your fall
routine yet this year!
