Turf Tip: Crabgrass

When using pre-emergents, border all edges of properties abutting concrete, brick, or asphalt. These are always problematic crabgrass areas.

2016 Spring Questions

Many turfgrass professionals probably haven’t experienced a winter similar to the winter of 2015 - 16 before. Severe rains to the heavy snow on unfrozen ground and then, back to the rain to end 2015, were all uncommon events to kick off our winter. To top it off, we have had a couple of severe cold snaps, which will provide more questions as spring approaches.

Many golf course superintendents reapplied their snow mold application on greens due to all the rain we experienced.  Another underlying factor from all the rain and warm weather could be a nutrient deficiency come spring. Crown hydration and ice could be another hurdle to jump as well. All these factors could provide us with many questions that, of course, can’t be answered until spring arrives.

Until then, ProGro can provide you some consolation with spring fertilizer and chemical programs, ice melting products (The AndersonsHumic DG and Black Gypsum DG) and, dare I say, seed options, if necessary.

Good luck to all the turf professionals this spring and let us know if we can help!

Updated: We are moving!

We have outgrown our warehouse in Barrington and are moving into a new facility on March 1, 2016! The building will be located at 1225 Lunt Avenue in Elk Grove Village, Illinois.

The new facility will be able to house more product than our previous warehouse, with its 19,500 square feet. It also has 2,000 square feet of office space to allow more area for us to meet with our customers and find great solutions to their needs.

We've been having a great time, painting and getting the office ready for the move-in.

(Update) After a few weeks of painting and getting the new location ready, we now have updated pictures of the new warehouse. It's coming along quite well!

The move-in is still set to be completed March 1st. We hope to see you soon!
